First impression disappointing Sep 08, 2010
By JerseyTomato This bag isn't nearly as large as the dimensions given led me to believe. Calling it 13 inches wide is really a stretch. I wonder if they used a mammogram machine to get this measurement! You need to completely empty the bag and press it down as flat as a pancake to make it come out that way. With things in it so that it's plumped out a normal amount, it's a little over 11 inches.
The main top opening which closes magnetically is 10 inches wide. There's a zipper compartment accessible from the outside, and an interior zipper compartment that separates the main part in two. The zipper openings on those are only 8 1/2 inches. Therefore, my Kindle 2 in a neoprene sleeve cannot fit into either one of them. The only places I could put the Kindle are in one of the open sections of the main compartment, on either side of the center zipper compartment. Oh, it could also stand up vertically in the outer open pocket, but it's loose there and I'd be afraid it would slip out. (It doesn't fit horizontally.)
The video description I saw on another site described the strap length as cross-body and on their model it looked like a large cross-body as well. I suspect their model was a lot shorter than I am because it doesn't hang nearly as low on me and it's not flattering. It just looks skimpy.
On the plus side, the bag itself is attractive, it's soft and very well made. The lining is pretty and is part of what sold me on the bag. It's easier to see what's in the bag against a lighter background vs. solid black. The center zipper compartment attaches at the side and bottom, so it really does separate the other two main sections of the bag. An item you put on one side isn't going to slip underneath. The front compartments that close with vertical zippers are very clever and hold more than would first appear. Instead of being sewn side-by-side so each compartment stops at the center of the bag, they are sewn one in back of the other so each one reaches all the way across. You can put your hands inside kind of like in a hand muff. There are also a smaller interior zipper pocket and some open pockets inside.
A lot of the bag's features depend on the clever sewing of the lining like that. I wonder if the lining can stand up to the heavy daily wear I planned on giving this bag. (My current bag, much cheaper, has been in daily use for two years.) All in all, this is a nice bag with some useful features but I was counting on it to be much larger than it is. For $80 and the way it's been advertised, I expected more. I still don't know if I'll be keeping it.

By JM The stitching pulled out on this purse after a very short time of using this. I would not recommend it.
