Convenient System to Carry Water and other Small Items Jul 07, 2011
By Tradecraft The M-4 Waistpack by Maxpedition offers 100 cubic inches of space that will hold a one quart bottle of water and some extra items in a convenient and easy system. In the main compartment I carry the Nalgene BPA Free Tritan Oasis Canteen 32 Oz Narrow Mouth Bottle. In the two outer pouches I carry a Leatherman 830039 New Wave Multitool with Leather/Nylon Combination Sheath and a Surefire 6P LED Single Output LED Flashlight. There is a front pocket which will hold some emergency gear such as Katadyn Micropur MP1 Water Purification Tablets, Ultimate Survival Technologies 2x3 StarFlash Emergency Signal Mirror, JetScream Whistle by Ultimate Survival Technologies, two extra CR123A Lithium batteries, small Bic lighter, Swedish Firesteel - Army Model and an Adventure Medical Kits Adventure Heatsheets Survival Blanket.
The M-4 Waistpack is rugged, durable and will stand up to abuse with minimal wear and tear.
balky but effective Mar 19, 2012
By preston j maloney well made, sturdy design. the main pocket is really meant for a canteen, but i wish it had organisation pockets inside. it looks a little big, but it is a good substitute for a fanny pack
Good Molle Pouch Dec 29, 2011
By Herbert C. Rounick Great pouch if you want to attach it to molle webbing. If you don't already have a pack to add this to you might find it frustrating to use it by itself. IMO you would need to wear it on your belt to one side to have access to it. That could be a nuisance to your posture eventually. In my case I had another maxpedition bag " sabre" that it attached to with a perfect fit so I was happy.
Great durability...quality product but not great to use on it's own.

Works well as my Daily Carry Sep 16, 2011
By WiseWolf The material is extremely durable. I can get there my iPhone, Leatherman Wave multitool, tactical flashlight, fire starter, 2 pens, small notepad, keys, sunglasses, and there is still space for more. Something cool about it is the way the main compartment doesn't seem to collapse, giving you the impression that you are carrying an extremely flexible box.
It also has an internal waterproof bag on the main compartment but if you do not want to use just push it towards the bottom and it won't get on your way. Another plus is that it does not get a lot of attention from co-workers or people in general when going about your own business. The only drawback I can think of, is that the secondary compartment doesn't have dual zippers. If I want to get my iPhone on that compartment and use my headphones I need to leave the zipper half opened.
I had become a Maxpedition fan.

All-purpose pouch Sep 12, 2011
By Prepper10 This can be used to carry a miltary canteen (including a stove stand) along with a disposable water filter or two in one side and some electrolyte packs in the other--with room left in the front pouch for purification and hexamine tabs. Or, it can be used to carry just about any number of other things safely and securely. You might even want two to balance your load. Pricey, but I don't think you'll regret it. One possible drawback--doesn't come with any drain grommets in bottom.
