Bulky but handy Nov 25, 2008

As with the other reviewer's, I agree that this bag is bulky, but very handy. I am forever forgetting to bring my "green" bags with me when I go shopping and end up kicking myself for once again leaving all my bags in the car and having to use the plastic, bad for the environment bags at stores. Now, I carry the Envirosax bag with me EVERYWHERE. I am using it in place of my purse. Yes, it is a bit bulky, but for me it far outweighs the alternitave of plastic. This bag is made very well. Quality wise it is superior to many I have seen especially for the price. I loaded it up with books just to see how it would handle a heavy load...beautifully. Be environmentally aware while being fashionable as well!

Function & Fashion Dec 16, 2008

The Envirosax Bamboo Bag is light-weight, soft, environmentally friendly and attractive. The tan color, with the white leaf design works well with any attire and even doubles as a carry all or purse. "Envirosax" and 3 small "clipart style" pictures (a leaf, recycle arrow & butterfly) are printed on the complimentary, tan, drawstring bag, a mini version of the large bag, with all the same attributes. While many of us have the best of intentions when it comes to the planet, we are creatures of habit, and we haven't quite gotten into the "habit" of taking our bags with us to the store...Envirosax's Bamboo Bag has gone a long way in bridging that gap... Combining function with fashion means we are more likely to carry this bag...Which is exactly what I did. I have carried the bag, as a purse, to the library & to pick up a few small items from the grocery store...and I found the bag relatively easy to carry, (both in the hand or on the shoulder), although adding 1 inch of fabric to the strap would make the latter more comfortable. It is the quality of the construction that concerns me - after less than two weeks of light use, both sides of the bag have frayed, torn threads. Which leads me to believe if I were to use the bag on a daily basis, or for weekly shopping it would fail in a short period of time.
All in all it's a good idea and with some improvements to the construction would be a wonderful asset, both to the environment and the consumer. If you aren't going to use this bag daily or you carry very little with you, it's probably going to be okay - however, if you are looking for a bag that you can shop with weekly, you might want to find something a bit sturdier.

A great, portable bag! Nov 25, 2008
By W. E. Phillips The Envirosax Organic Bamboo Bag is a great, earth-friendly bag that can accompany you every day. It is a sturdy, good sized bag that comes with it's own drawstring pouch, so it is easy to throw into your purse, backpack, or glove compartment. My problem with reuseable shopping bags is that I frequently forget to bring them along on my excursions, but this bag solves that problem. It is also very nice looking. It is light brown with a leaf-like design, and looks quite fashionable. I especially like that it is made of bamboo fabric. It is soft and light, and has no strange smell or plasticy feel to it. This would be great for personal use or as a gift for those hard-to-buy-for people on your list!

IT'S A BAG! IT'S A TANK TOP! Dec 01, 2008
By Kerry Leimer This item comes in a small outer box made of recycled material, printed in Australia with soy-based ink. The bag itself is wadded into a smaller, drawstring bag, which is placed inside the box. Once bereft of its use as a second level of packaging the lil' sack may prove to be a great item for those who still play jacks or marbles. Once we reach the main bag itself -- the "Product", if you will -- we discover a profoundly wrinkled blend of linen and bamboo viscose that was assembled in China under "Strict Australian Guidance". The colors are tasteful, the material has a nice feel and, unlike a number of reusable shopping bags we've bought lately, this one does not fall apart after a few uses. It does however look for all the world like a failed clothing line's ornamental tank top, sold as an inventory close-out and then sewn shut at the bottom. But even if that's not case, the promise of something wearable is still present. So, if things continue to worsen in the economy, we Envirosax owners can recycle this sack by cutting open the bottom and wearing it as some sort of shirt.

Sturdy bag but a bit bulky Nov 24, 2008

This is a nice bag and a bit more "showy" than the Baggu bags for the same purpose Amazon sells that I purchased before getting this bag. In comparing the two, I would get the Baggu bags because they are much lighter and more compact than this bag. When I pulled this bag out of the amazon box, the first thing I noticed was how heavy it is compared to the Baggu bags. I would say the bamboo bag weighs about 5 ounces, where as the Baggu bag weighs next to nothing. They also say that the bamboo bag folds to the size of a piece of sushi. The pouch it comes in is about the size of a box of Jello. The Baggu bag is also about the same size, but the Baggu pouch is flatter and as I stated before it weighs less.
Both the bags are quite sturdy. I tested them both by placing six 1 liter bottles of water in them and bouncing them up and down and there didn't seem to be any giving in the fabric. The Baggu is made of rip stop nylon as opposed to the bamboo and as I said, the bamboo bag is prettier and has a design on it where as the Baggu just comes in solid colors (mine are pink).
Overall, I think this bamboo bag is a nice product, but if I were to choose between this and the Baggu (which I do admit cost a bit more, I think the Baggu is $22 for 3 bags with free shipping) I would get the Baggu because they are lighter and flatter than this bag.
